Hey there! I’m Mic.

I’m a UX Designer based in Brooklyn, NY. I believe in building joyful online experiences that are accessible to anyone, no matter their circumstances or abilities.

Creating positive user experiences has been at the heart of my professional career. For the past 6 years I’ve worked in customer support at a website building platform. During my time as an agent, I worked directly with customers via email, live chat, and in-person workshops to understand their issues and provide empowering resolutions. I learned to meet each person where they’re at and the importance of infusing empathy into every interaction.

My 2 years as an agent served me well as I moved into a training role at the same company. I shifted my focus to creating development materials and workshops for new and tenured agents. This required tracking trends, reviewing interactions, and speaking directly with agents to understand pain points and begin to close learning gaps. I worked with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the needs of both the business and the customers were reflected in this work.

My foray into UX design began when I enrolled in an introductory course with the goal of creating better looking workshops. I had been holding on to the limiting belief that design roles were only for people with visual design backgrounds and advanced degrees. I loved what I was learning and creating, and I began to meet more designers with unique trajectories and unconventional backgrounds. It became abundantly clear that my empathetic approach to problem solving would allow me to flourish in design.
